The UK’s Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) is introducing new regulations that offer greater protection to the victims of Authorized Push Payment (APP) fraud. The regulation, commonly known as Authorized Push Payment Fraud Regulations (APP Fraud Regulations), states that all payment service providers (PSPs) using the UK’s Faster Payments Service (FPS) will be required to reimburse victims for losses related to APP fraud.
With regards to the above, we are reaching out to inform you about your rights under the APP Fraud Regulations that will come into force as of the 7th of October 2024.
We strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with this Help Center page, Customer Rights and APP Fraud Regulation – Help Center (currencycloud.com), that includes key information about the new policy, fraud and scam reporting, reimbursement entitlements and additional guidance on fraud protection.
It contains information about your rights under the APP Fraud Regulations, including the scope of the policy, the scenarios in which the reimbursement entitlement would not apply and the claim process overview.
The ‘Reporting fraud and scams’ section provides you with key information on how to communicate with our provider Currencycloud when you suspect fraud or scams, or you have been a victim of a fraud or scam, and it also advises on how to report fraud and scams to the appropriate authorities.
The ‘Protect yourself from fraud and scams’ section provides you with additional guidance and resources to help keep you safe from fraud and scams.
